2007 Gardening Talk

Ms. Gena, a gardening devotee, gave a pleasant and enticing presentation at room 116 in Diffenbaugh building of FSU on April 15th, 2007.

Gina

At the first session, Ms. Gena presented her recent Costa Rica trip slides show. From coffee farms to private back yards, we were shared South America tropical forestal plants and flowers.

At the second session, Ms. Gena taught us hands-on experience, such as how to distinguish poison ivies, how to compost and fertilize, tips on planting citrus trees, tomato, potato, how to prevent animals from invading to your gardens, etc.

During break, audience lined up to ask Ms. Gena questions. At the last session, Ms. Gena answered all questions which come from audience and promised to have follow-up visits individually. CAT supplied beverages and snacks.

It was a very successful talk show. The only downside of this time is not so many people attended. (About fifteen people much less than what we expected) We hope more people will participate in our next talks.

If our members have good ideas and proposals for our next series of talks, please contact with us by email, by phone or in person. Any suggestions are very welcome. If you recommend yourself and /or someone else willingly to give us a talk, it will be truly appreciated.
